The Westin La Cantera Resort is committed to protecting our environment and preserving our precious natural resources. We believe being green is not a definitive objective but understand it's a process of being "greener." We are dedicated to the process and promise to promote a lifestyle that ensures our environmental impact on the world around us is minimal and as positive as possible. We reduce, reuse, recycle where possible.

Resort Overall
  • Participation in "Make a Green Choice" that gives guests the choice to decline daily housekeeping services and in return receive a $5 gift card to use at participating f/b outlets within the hotel. Guests hang the "green choice" card outside their guestroom door indicating their decision to decline services that day. Saves water and other resources, providing guests an earth-friendly alternative to having their bed linens and towels changed every day.
  • all used print cartridges are recycled
  • re-use of scrap paper and double sided printing when possible
  • lighting, computers, gas and equipment in all areas is turned off when not in use
  • paperless guest registration
  • computer monitors turn off automatically after period of inactivity
  • energy efficient CFL lighting in all guest rooms and in the hotel's public spaces
  • use of email instead of paper for communication and documentation
  • hybrid vehicle/transportation service is available upon request with Concierge Services

Housekeeping
  • bed linens and towels are changed only upon guest request to aid in water and energy conservation efforts

  • guest room disposable drinking cups are made from a natural and renewable resource, and are 100% compostable
  • provide guests option to use one only one shower head from the dual heavenly shower head

  • both organic foods and vegetarian options are available in the restaurants, banquet functions and in-room service
  • kitchen energy reduction program reduces pre-heat timing and equipment usage
  • we offer local food products, thus reducing our carbon footprint for shipping
  • incorporating Super Foods into its menu offerings
  • six Sigma Kitchen Energy project to maximize efficiency and reduce unneeded energy consumption in all property kitchens

  • facial, massage, and body treatment supplies feature all natural ingredients
